Eligibility

Do I need to be based in Australia or New Zealand to be eligible to enter?
Yes. This is an Australian and New Zealand based competition, and is open exclusively to professional kitchen designers, architects, interior designers, builders and developers who are legal residents of Australia or New Zealand.

Does my project need to be located in Australia or New Zealand?
Yes.

Can I submit a project that is still under construction?
No. All projects must be 100% finished works at the time of the entry submission.

Can I submit a project in a display suite?
No. Display suites created for developers’ property sales do not qualify for entry.

Is there a time period in which my project must have been completed?
Yes. Your project must have been completed after 1 May 2023 and 30 April 2025 (inclusive). Speculative or unfinished projects, client pitches and/or mock-ups will not be considered a valid entry.

Does my project need to have Gaggenau products featured in it?
Yes. Projects must include at least 3 Gaggenau major domestic appliances.

Entry submission attachments

How many images can I submit?
Submissions must include a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 images. We recommend supplying at least 6 images.

What size do the images need to be?
Please ensure your images are of the highest quality. We suggest 1500x1000 pixels in landscape orientation. We will NOT accept pixelated images, CGI or renders. You’ll be prompted to include your photographer’s name in your entry so the photography can be credited if your entry is publicised.

Do my images have to be in landscape format?
No, we also accept portrait format, but if you have some landscape-format shots available, please include them.

What file type do the images need to be?
Please submit your images in jpg or png format. All other file types, including PDF files, will not be accepted.

What text do I need to submit?
The entry form asks for basic details (such as design/architecture firm’s name, project title, project location and photographer’s name), specification details, Gaggenau product details, as well as more descriptive paragraphs. To view the entry form for each category, you can register to enter at our entry portal and view the online entry form with no commitment to lodge an entry.

Do I need to get permission from my client/photographer/etc. to enter?
Yes. By entering Gaggenau Kitchen of the Year, you confirm that you have permission from all involved parties pertaining to your project/s - including clients, copyright holders and collaborators - to allow Gaggenau and its partners and associated agencies to publish your work across any of its platforms/brands, as well as any associated promotional material, without limitation.

Entry portal

Can I save a draft of my entry and return to it later?
Yes. You can return to and edit your entry at any point up to the entry deadline of 30 April 2025 11:59pm AEST. Your entry will not be complete until your entry has been submitted.

What’s the deadline for submission?
Entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday 30 April 2025. Gaggenau must receive your entry on or before this date.

How much does it cost to enter?
It is free to enter.
